A Month has Gone By

Time is flying once again, and it makes me sad how fast things are moving around here. As of Friday, Tess was officially one month old and is five weeks old today!! It seems like it was only yesterday that I left the hospital. That's crazy to me. This has truly been the fastest month of my life.

Not much has been going on other than everyday life. The most major event that has taken place was Tess' two week appointment which was great and she's very healthy and was already a whopping 10 lbs, so no idea how much she weighs now and doesn't go back until her two month check up. And the other major event was she was baptized on the 7th of Feb. Holly and Veryln are her Godparents and she looked beautiful. The student pastor that was here last year that we befriended and his wife sent us a beautiful little dress for her to be baptized in. She had tights, hair bow, shrug sweater and little pink ballet slippers. It was her first real time of getting gussied up. She was so cute!!! She slept through the whole thing too. She has no idea that she was even baptized.

She is a great eater and for the most part a great sleeper. Things that we have discovered about her is that she doesn't mind the noise of our chaotic and loud house, she sleeps right through the boys screaming and wrestling only feet away from her. She loves movement, rocked in her bouncy chair, the swing or to be rocked in your arms. No matter how hard she is crying, if you start to rock her she quiets down. She likes to be held more than I remember my other babies liking it, but she doesn't like to lay down, she likes to be up on your shoulder while you pat her back. Her hair started out very dark like Judd's but has since gotten lighter and keeps lightening up and now is almost an auburn color with blondish hairs growing in underneath, so only time will tell what color hair she will truly have. She is overall a great 4th baby.

The boys are all doing well too. Owen and Raymond are enjoying school. We just signed Raymond up for another year of Preschool next year rather than starting Kindergarten but this time he will be going 5 days a week 1/2 days and in a larger class setting at a new place. He's excited and doesn't even realize he's missing the chance to start Kindergarten this year. We have all started to get back into the routine of going to church after missing the 2nd half of Dec. and the whole month of January, so that makes me feel better too.

The last bit of news that is sort of a big deal to me and Tony is that we have decided that Tess is most definitely the last Coffey baby coming out of this household. We love babies and have thought long and hard about this, but have come to the decision that we can't afford another baby and we want to be able to give each kid individual attention as much as possible and with any more kids that just becomes harder and harder, so on March 9 Tony will be getting a vasectomy done and we will be done with this phase of our life. It makes me a little sad to know that we could never have another baby, but when I'm feeding Tess and holding her and think back to my pregnancy with her, I am thankful I am not going to be pregnant one more time and content with the thought of moving on with the next phase of our life where we simply enjoy the kids we have! So say a prayer for our family that all goes well for Tony and that we can start to get into the habit of making most of our family and life together!

Last but not least, Judd will be turning 2 in just a couple of weeks!! Can you believe it? It seems like he was just born too. He is very excited to be having a Yo Gabba Gabba birthday, which he picked out himself. I should get his stuff in the mail today, so will try and get invitations out tomorrow! My littlest man is now such a big boy and starting the adventure of potty training as well. Hopefully that will catch on quickly, so we can only have 1 kid in diapers! :)

P.S. Happy Belated Valentine's day to everyone

Just for fun...

Here are pictures of all four of my babes when they were roughly 3 weeks old. How cute were they? It was just fun looking back on their baby pictures because you think you remember what they look like until you see an actual picture! It's fun to see how they are alike and different now. It makes me wonder what Tess will look like when she's a toddler. Anyways...here they are.
