Baby Update and Cookies...

Well I just went to my 30 week doctors appointment and they have confirmed that currently Judd is feet down and basically in a standing position (breech). She gave me some exercises to try and get him to turn on his own and they don't really start worrying about their breech position until about 36 or 37 weeks she said. She is tentatively scheduling me to be induced on Feb. 29 (leap day), which means that he would only have a birthday every 4 years!! :( But ultimately I am more concerned about them getting him out safely and hopefully avoiding a c-section at all costs.

Now onto Cookies!! The boys made gingerbread cookies last night and decorated them for Santa. Seeing as Mrs. Claus is a fan of gingerbread cookies over sugar cookies, she got to choose the recipe! They had so much fun and made a nice mess, but I got some pictures and they are so proud of their decorating skills.

My Basketball Star

Owen has been playing basketball now since the middle of October. He was very anxious about it at first, I think because he didn't like people watching him. So every Saturday they would start off by doing practices and drills to learn fundamentals then they would play a small scrimmage against another team. (Owen is in the red pants).

The first day he wouldn't play at all. He sat a cried and hid his face in my shoulder. Then gradually, the Saturdays that followed he would play a little more and a little more. He would not every play the scrimmage though. Then they didn't have it for Thanksgiving weekend, then the next weekend it was snowed out and then the third weekend in a row, Owen refused to go. But his last game was last Saturday. He hadn't played for three weeks mind you, and he was a totally new kid. He played the entire 40 minutes and got to shoot the ball, dribble the ball and run up and down the court with his team. It's a very laid back 3 and 4 year old league at the YMCA. The coaches run up and down with the kids and pick them up to shoot the ball, etc. I was so excited that he played, I almost cried. So these pictures all come from Owen's last basketball game of the season. I am so proud of him for actually trying it and liking it too!!

New Baby update

We are getting very excited for our new baby. It seems like he will be here so soon. I am now 28 weeks pregnant and just went for my 28 week check-up today. I am measuring perfectly and everything seems great. She said that due to way I carry my babies big that she will probably let me only go to 39 weeks instead of 40.
Owen and Raymond are getting excited now too. It's so cool to see how they understand now that there will be a new baby. Owen talks about how he will help change his diapers and help feed him and gives my belly kisses and hugs all the time and talks about Judd (the baby's name) like he's already here. Raymond will occassionally give Judd hugs and kisses but he is very occupied with getting into stuff still. Although, if you aske him where Judd is, he will say "right there" and point to my belly. I just bought some binky's too and Raymond said they were for Judd.
The three boys will be sharing a room too, and I pretty much have it all put together. Since I already have two boys, there wasn't a tremendous amount to get ready for Judd. But I wanted his arrival to seem special too, so I did get him all new crib bedding and some decorations. Plus I painted wooden letters of his name red, a tradition I started with Owen, and hung those above his crib. I love their room. I love the fact that they can all three share a room. I can't imagine splitting up Owen and Raymond because they are best friends, but I would feel like I was isolating Judd and that he was left out of the group if he had gotten his own room. So even though there is a crib, a toddler bed and a twin bed in their room, they still have plenty of room for toys and to play.

Monday I go to my 30 week appointment and I am anxiously awaiting that. I love my appointments because it makes it seem more real! I will keep everyone posted as we progress closer to our due date!

Christmas Decorating...

Well, we got our whole house decorated now. It was a lot of fun because Owen and Raymond are now old enough to appreciate the whole Christmas scene. All they can talk about is Santa and making cookies for him and what he's bringing them for Christmas. Both of them want a dinosaur and Transformers this year, and we think that Santa will comply! :)

The boys did all the tree decorating and daddy helped, but mainly they took care of the job.

They were so proud of their finished product. We got all of our Christmas shopping done for the boys and this weekend we are going to make Santa cookies (lots and lots of them).

Owen will be singing in his preschool Christmas concert at church this Sunday, so I will be videotaping it. He is singing 'Away in a Manger' and one more song but I can't recall what that one is. The boys also went to see Santa this last weekend and Owen got his picture taken with him, but Raymond was scared away by this strange old man that we wanted him to sit on his lap. Why would that be scary to a two year old?!?!? -ha.
