We survived!!

We have been doing lots of stuff this month and it was so super crazy but we survived! We managed all of the many events, all of the extra kids, all of the end of year school stuff for both Owen and Raymond, Tony's mom's graduation and more! We have had very little sleep and lots of busy days, but they are finally slowing down. Baseball is in full swing, Tess is growing like a mad woman (she will be 5 months old already next week!). This post if full of lots of pictures with little blurbs about some of the things we have been up to! We have also already visited the Zoo about 10 times already this spring/summer and will be there Friday too with the daycare kids and Tony for Owen's 6th birthday. Then Sunday we will be having his actual party with a few of his school friends at an Omaha Royals minor league baseball game. I can't believe my baby is going to be 6 and that I am old enough to have a kid going into first grade next year!!!

Next week is Vacation Bible School which I am teaching every night the preschool and Kindergarten group once again. Then Sat. at about 4:30am the whole family is leaving for IL for my family reunion to see all my mom's side of the family and then heading to Indiana on Sunday to take the kids to the most Awesome children's museum in the world in Indianapolis! So excited. My mom and older sister Kelly will come too. I am excited for my kids to share some of my childhood experiences like going to my Aunt Nadine and Uncle Dale's house in IN down by the dam to find shells and Indian beads and swing on the swing.

Lots of things were happening at Owen's school the last couple of weeks. He had a school carnival where he got two tattoos and Raymo got a tattoo of a baseball on his arm, then there was field day, an end of the year family BBQ for lunch, and a couple other things. The field day was SOOOOO cold and windy it was like it was Feb. Raymond and I went to watch and eat lunch with Owen that day. We didn't stay too long, but I did bring like 8 more layers of clothes for Owen. For mother's day my daycare kids and I made these jar vases and paper flowers for our moms, plus Owen and Raymond made one each for their teachers. I thought they were super cute cause they were stylish and the painted flowers on the jar are made out of their fingerprints.

Another major event was Raymond's preschool graduation. He finished two years at preschool. He could technically start Kindergarten next Fall, but his birthday is Sept. 24 and the you have to be 5 by Oct. 15, and I just think that is too young for Kindergarten. So instead, he will be attending preschool next year at Rainbow Factory which is 5 days a week half days, so like what Kindergarten used to be before it was all day. Raymo got to be the flag holder on the Pledge of Allegiance. I always get teary eyed at the first and last day of school. Owen finished school a week later and we only found out after picking him up on the last day that his K teacher is retiring, which was kind of sad. Owen won't get to see his K teacher in the halls next year. I really liked her.

My mom and dad were awesome enough the second to last week of school to come out to Omaha to help out. I had two of my other daycare provider friends' kids plus my own and my mom stayed all week to help watch kids so I could still take kids to and from school. While she was here she had the boys help her paint stuff for her garden that she is making. So our kids got lots of family in a week in a half time span! It was busy and fun.

One of our many events this month was my mother-in-Law's graduation with her Doctorate and the graduation party that we were throwing. After much planning it was a HUGE success. We had about 40 people come and had such yummy food and huge buffet of Mexican food that the fiesta was awesome. We decorated and ate until we almost bust. Tony's brothers and wife and girlfriend and our nephew were able to come. Along with them was Tony's three aunts and grandparents and one of his cousins. The kids got to hang out with their uncles and aunts and one year old cousin Blain. It was alot of fun. The fiesta was Saturday and then on Sunday Holly graduated so we all went to that as well. Tess got held ALOT during the course of everyone being here so I had to break her of that after they all left and it took about a week.

The boys got to be in a Little League parade at the minor league baseball game of the Omaha Royals a couple weeks ago. Then we stayed and watched the game and watched fireworks after wards which Owen said was the best day ever! :) We've been doing a lot with baseball and even Tess is interested in playing ball with her brothers!

Since it has been so nice out we've been doing lots of running through the sprinklers. Tess hasn't gotten wet yet, but thought it was appropriate to put her in her swimsuit too!

We've had lots of fun this month but I am so happy that it is finally over. The next couple of weeks brings more adventures, but I will post about those after wards. Happy Memorial Day everyone. Hope you enjoy my pictures!
